The Fuel Cell Experience is an educational virtual reality application designed to offer an immersive learning experience on hydrogen fuel cells. The goal is to guide students through an interactive journey, from theoretical concepts to hands-on experimentation, allowing them to fully understand how a fuel cell works.

● An Interactive Journey into the Science of Hydrogen

Inside the VR experience, students will be guided by a virtual assistant explaining the functioning of a fuel cell. Through detailed 3D models and interactive animations, they will explore the key processes, from hydrogen separation to electricity generation, and finally, the formation of water as a byproduct of the reaction.

● From Theory to Practice

After learning the fundamental concepts, students will put their knowledge to the test by assembling a hydrogen-powered car in the virtual lab. This practical phase will allow them to verify their understanding by simulating the assembly and operation of a fuel-cell-powered vehicle.

● An innovative educational project

The Fuel Cell Experience was developed as part of the Virtual Reality course offered by Politecnico di Torino, in collaboration with the Fondazione ITS Aerospazio Meccatronica of Piemonte. The project aims to make learning more engaging and interactive, leveraging the potential of virtual reality to bring students closer to sustainable energy technologies.
